The FTSE 100 company, which owns British Gas, will bring in Park in a head of policy role.
His departure in a couple of weeks follows more than half a decade spent working at Conservative Campaign Headquarters.
A well-placed Westminster insider said that Park had played a key part in the party's 'attack team’ ahead of the 2010 general election, as well as formulating energy policy.
‘He is very well regarded by the party, was cool, calm and collected under fire and it will be a great loss,’ they added.
A Conservative Party spokesman confirmed the move and added that a replacement would be announced shortly.
Yesterday Centrica announced a £10bn gas supply deal with US to heat up to 1.8 million UK homes.
