What is it good for?
Indian vegetarian cuisine in an intimate setting. It's right in the middle of West Yorkshire, a stone's throw from the M62. Originally a small family-run restaurant in Bradford, Prashad was runner-up on Ramsay's Best Restaurant in 2010 and has since launched a cookbook and moved to larger premises.
Prashad is famous for its Gujarati special chaat, and its South Indian masala dosa, for which it boasts the best recipe outside of Kerala.
Who's the boss?
Mohan and Kaushy Patel opened Prashad as a delicatessen 22 years ago. Their son, operations director Bobby, is now at the helm with his wife Minal, who is head chef.
Pop in for 'roadside snacks' and cocktails made by the in-house mixologist in the bar area or book a private party in the snug.
What's the damage?
A typical starter, main course, accompaniments and drink costs less than £20. The portions are ample and carnivores often report that they don't miss the meat.
