Tempest, who has spent three years at Hills Balfour leading the 18-strong PR team, leaves mid-April to ‘take time out and possibly work in the arts’.
The agency has promoted Kevin Gibson, Kate Popham and Jo Hartley to PR directors, serving in Tempest’s place. They will take on joint responsibility for heading up the PR team and will report to Jonathan Sloan, managing director.
Prior to her role at Hills Balfour, which has clients including New York City, Las Vegas, Portugal, Mauritius, and Explore Montenegro, Tempest spent seven years at rival travel and tourism PR agency The Saltmarsh Partnership, where she was board director.
Before this, Tempest worked at Citigate Dewe Rogerson, L’Oreal and Carlton TV.
Tempest said: ‘After a fantastic three years at Hills Balfour and a total of 15 in PR, I thought it was time to turn my hand to a new challenge.’
In January the agency was appointed by Butlin’s, the Bourne Leisure-owned resort brand, to promote its growing events division for the first time.
