DIARY: Collins savages publicist as Over The Moon flops

As if being attacked by national newspapers was not enough, poor

old celebrity PROs are now being savaged by their own clients.

Corset-wearing ex-soap star Joan Collins has launched a scathing attack

on the publicist of her failed West End show Over The Moon.

In her column in this month's Spectator, Collins vents her spleen at

publicist Anna Arthur's insistence on circulating the scantily-clad shot

of the 68-year-old, which subsequently made the front pages of national

newspapers.

Collins 'reluctantly' agreed to the shoot to boost sales after Arthur

allegedly pleaded with her to do so.

After pondering what the Taliban would have made of this 'example of

disreputable Western decadence', Collins continued with a rant against a

'deep throat in training' who has leaked spats within the Bill

Kenwright-directed show.

Arthur was eager to remind Diary that the shots did little to lift the

flagging performance of the show, but she assures us that Collins never

once requested copy approval on interviews.
