Granada political editor set to take up Lexington job

Lobbying specialist Lexington has recruited Granada's political

editor Mark Lyons.

He joins in January as a senior consultant and reports to Lexington

founder partners Ian Kennedy and Mike Craven.

Kennedy said his media experience would involve him in work for clients

including the Daily Mail and the Independent Television Commission.

Lyons will also be involved in issues management, public affairs and

corporate communications advice.

He is the fourth high-profile hire for the agency in the past four

months and brings the total number of staff in a consulting role to

15.

In August Lexington recruited energy sector specialist Anne Rossiter,

who joined from Fishburn Hedges. She had worked for clients including

Powergen while at FH, and for the Labour Party during its 1997

campaign.

And in July ex-government special advisers Nigel Warner and David Wilson

were taken on as senior consultants. They worked for Mo Mowlam and

Hilary Armstrong respectively.

As head of the broadcaster's Westminster office, Lyons has worked on

programmes including Sunday Supplement and Granada Tonight.

He joined Granada in 1996 after working at ITN as a producer.
