A PR tender has been put out by the pair for both consumer and b2b work across the US, lasting three years.
The pitch is aimed at agencies in North America. It comes ahead of a slew of major events within the country, including the Ryder Cup, to be held in Gleneagles next year.
A spokesman for VisitScotland said: 'The agencies that win the tender will promote Scotland to the North American market, with particular focus on exciting opportunities such as the Year of Natural Scotland 2013 and the events in 2014.'
Currently, the encumbent for the consumer brief is Laura Davidson PR, while B2B is covered by MWW, Weber Shandwick and DCI.
