With PR won a pitch shootout for a retained brief with Your Square Mile, which encourages residents and businesses to contribute to their neighbourhood.

As part of this, it will lead comms around Your Square Mile’s CSR initiative with Heineken.

This involves consultants from the social enterprise matching brewery employees to relevant local community projects based on their skills and interests.

The group’s partnership with the brewery giant comes as it aims to spread expertise to other corporate businesses across the UK, promoting ‘corporate community engagement’.

Your Square Mile was founded last year with the help of a Big Lottery grant by Paul Twivy, former CEO of the Big Society Network.

With PR MD Debbie Zaman explained: ‘Your Square Mile is a passionate organisation that already punches far above its weight. It is making a difference to challenged neighbourhoods across the UK and we are supporting its important role of re-energising our nation’s communities from the ground up.'

She added: ‘Our first role will be in positioning and messaging around Your Square Mile and establishing awareness of its offer among individuals and communities more widely. We will also be looking to work on the personal profile of Paul in the business sector and across the business media by engaging brand and business stakeholders.

‘This will involve, among other things, opinion-led work and thought leadership.’
