Stuart Marks, senior manager of corporate comms for EMEA, confirmed to PRWeek that the firm was reviewing its relationship with incumbent Spreckley Partners.

Marks said the review was a due diligence process after five years of working with Spreckley. Previously, Brocade had worked with Weber Shandwick and Hotwire.

PRWeek understands the pitch list includes Speed Communications and Zeno Group. However, Weber Shandwick and Hotwire are not involved.

Spreckley Partners would not be drawn on whether it would repitch for the account.

Brocade works with agencies on a national level and the review only relates to the UK.

Edelman was appointed to lead its social media strategy in the US market in 2010, an account reportedly worth $600,000 (£373,260), according to PRWeek US.

The US-based firm provides data networking infrastructure to businesses and counts Cisco, HP and EMC as rivals.

Brocade reported record fourth quarter results at the end of November, despite the announcement of CEO Michael Klayko's resignation.
