Jumeirah group hires WSW in bid to raise its profile

Hotel group Jumeirah International has turned to Weber Shandwick

Worldwide to build the company's international profile outside the

Middle East.

WSW corporate director Marcus Smith heads the account for the

Dubai-based group, which has established itself as one of the world's

most prestigious hospitality firms, with properties including the famous

sail-shaped hotel Burj Al Arab, The Beach Hotel and Emirates Towers.

Smith said: 'Our brief is to raise the profiles of the properties and of

the Jumeirah group, which has been largely overshadowed by the

properties themselves.'

It is believed WSW pitched against up to six agencies for the six-figure

account.

'Jumeirah is a prestigious name in the hotel and tourism sector and this

will enable us to launch a consistent message across several markets

internationally,' Smith added.
