DIARY: Gavin Anderson charts in Top Employers listing

The PR industry is famous for its wacky ways of retaining staff -

it is, after all, the sector that gave the world the concept of Duvet

Days.

But despite the temptation of on-site massages and away days, it seems

PROs are won over more than ever by a job that offers good old-fashioned

benefits and prospects.

Financial PR firm Gavin Anderson (GA) is one such company, according to

the Corporate Research Foundation, which lists the company as one of the

country's best to work for in Britain's Top Employers, to be published

next week.

Listed alongside firms including Hewlett-Packard and McDonalds, GA ranks

highly for its 'progressive attitude', training and 'working

atmosphere'.

Yet, for all its corporate benefits, GA's staff still admit to being

lured by free drink and travel. Deputy CEO Chris Salt ascribed his

professional loyalty to the fact that 'we throw knock-out parties and

give you the opportunity to travel the world - where else would you want

to work?'
