INTERNATIONAL: Global Round-up - Agencies pitching for Maryland public awareness campaign

ANNAPOLIS, MD: Sixteen PR agencies are pitching for Maryland's

brief to develop and conduct an aggressive, sustained mass media and PR

campaign aimed at educating the public on the perils of tobacco. Up to

£3.1m has been allocated for the contract, which runs between

January 2002 and June 2003. It is believed 40 per cent of the budget

will be spent on PR.
