Lord Davies joins Chime on 6 December, replacing acting chairman Rodger Hughes, who will continue as a senior independent director.
His other current roles include vice-chairman and partner at Corsair Capital, non-executive chairman of PineBridge Investments and also senior independent director at Diageo.
Lord Davies said: ‘Chime is a very interesting company with strong growth potential. I am looking forward to helping it achieve its goals. There are many international opportunities and we intend to seize them.’
The news was revealed in an interim management statement from Chime this morning, which also announced that its PR division is ‘progressing well with its restructuring following the disposal of the Bell Pottinger businesses’.
Open Health has also ‘continued to grow strongly’.
The announcement states that trading has continued to be in line with the management’s expectations ‘which will show strong growth in continuing operations compared to last year, with the second half showing growth over the first half and an improving margin’.
