Pargeter will take responsibility for the company’s global PR strategy, incorporating all product and corporate matters, and was previously global PR director for Land Rover.

Klaas, whom she replaces, recently moved to become executive director of comms and public affairs at Ford Europe.

She will join the executive committee of the company reporting to Jaguar Land Rover CEO Dr Ralf Speth. The move is effective immediately.

Commenting on the appointment, Speth said: ‘I am pleased to have Fiona on board particularly at this time when Jaguar Land Rover is about to embark on a period of growth through the launch of new products and new markets. She brings with her not just the respect of the industry but more than 20 years of automotive PR expertise and knowledge.’

Pargeter joined Jaguar Land Rover in 2009, and as global PR director for Land Rover oversaw the PR strategy for the Range Rover Evoque and most recently the PR launch of the new Range Rover.

Before this Fiona worked for Ford and was responsible for product PR in the UK.

Her career has also included internal communications and media relations at Volvo, having started in automotive PR at Nissan.
