RAC restructures PR unit and hires two senior PROs

The RAC has made two senior appointments as the in-house PR

department restructures to cope with increased demands following recent

acquisitions.

Tamsin Johnston joins as PR manager for operations, handling media for

the Auto Windscreens business, alongside its core roadside help

work.

Johnston joins from Unipart, where she was communications officer, to

take a role that was previously part of the brief of PR head Peter

Brill.

The RAC has also hired Susie Haywood as PR manager for RAC business

services.

She will handle media relations for the team that supports fleet, motor

manufacturer and insurance companies.

Haywood was previously PA manager for the Insurance Council of Australia

and now reports to media relations manager Nina Arnott. Her job has been

created as Arnott moves to cover consumer PR after the departure of

Amanda Bowman on maternity leave.
