Anglo-Swedish drugs giant AstraZeneca has hired Jango
mmunications for strategic PR and communications advice surrounding
the launch of a number of global brands.
AstraZeneca declined to comment on which brands are included in the
brief or the nature of the remit, but it is understood the account will
include integrated communications, focusing on PR and marketing
Jango Communications MD Maggie Malpas-Spencer said: 'It (the account
win) arose from discussions with AstraZeneca about how Jango could apply
our strategic and tactical capabilities, and bring a communications
focus onto the successful entry of major new brands through integrated
AstraZeneca boosted its in-house PR team earlier this year with a raft
of senior appointments (PRWeek, 27 April).
In April, AstraZeneca UK head of PR and communications Fiona Tigar also
announced the firm was hoping to fill two newly created posts - internal
communications manager and publications editor. A decision is expected
by next month.
