Global: The Week in Global PR

Waggener Edstrom has opened an office in Switzerland to serve local clients and global brands entering the market. It has also partnered with three agencies in Latin America, the Philippines and Brazil to strengthen its offerings in those regions.

Ansell Healthcare has hired former General Electric comms executive Frank Mantero as vice-president of global branding, corporate comms and creative services, across offices in the US, China, Malaysia and Belgium.

Cohn & Wolfe has been called in by online travel firm Hipmunk following a review. It will help increase brand awareness among consumers against competitors such as Expedia and Kayak.

Lewis PR has been brought in by the Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation to manage PR campaigns in the country for the next three years. Lewis has also been hired by IT services and consultancy company NTT DATA to work on campaigns across EMEA and Brazil.

General Electric India has appointed Rachana Panda as director of corporate comms in the country. Previously, Panda was director of comms for India and South Asia at Alstom, a group that holds interests in the power generation and transport markets.
