INTERNATIONAL: Sixty Brodeur US jobs lost as IBM reshuffles its PR

BOSTON, MA: IBM's £34m PR reshuffle has caused Brodeur

Worldwide to lay off 60 US employees - 18 per cent of its total US

workforce of 335.

The layoffs cut across all functional departments and offices.

While Brodeur is part of One Blue, the Omnicom agency created to serve

IBM's customer contact PR, Brodeur Worldwide CEO Andrea Carney said in a

statement that Brodeur's IBM revenue has been hit.

For 13 years, Brodeur was one of 50 IBM PR agencies. Last month, IBM

shifted to Magnet Communications, Text 100 and One Blue as its three

major agencies for worldwide PR services.

Brodeur handled PR for IBM's software group, global services consulting

arm and its personal systems group.

Brodeur follows in the footsteps of TSI Communications, a 12-year IBM

agency that laid off half its staff when IBM pulled the £6.8m

account.

Outside the US, Brodeur now employs 450 staff.
