In addition to its digital services, Firefly also hopes that Szomszor will help the agency expand its b2b portfolio. He called the appointment a ‘dream move’.
‘Firefly embraces new technologies and PR methodologies, so I’m relishing the opportunity to play my part in taking this forward,’ he added.
Szomszor has worked on digital and b2b account roles for Kwik-Fit, Kroll Ontrack, Baring Asset Management and Fujitsu.
He presents at social media events and blogger meet-ups such as the PR Moment’s Analytics Conference, while his theredrocket.co.uk blog is ranked in the top 20 UK PR and marketing blogs, according to Cision and Ad Age.
His appointment follows Firefly’s hire of Fiona Hughes, who joined from MSL London as head of consumer in October 2011. According to Firefly, its consumer portfolio has more than doubled since Hughes’ appointment.
