Ex-WSW regional chiefs set up own firm Metropublic

Weber Shandwick Worldwide's former regional bosses have set up

their own agency.

John Gerrie, former chief executive of WSW UK and Ireland regions, and

Helen Cree, former regions director, have named the agency

Metropublic.

Initially based in Edinburgh, Cree, who left WSW in May, and Gerrie, who

left in March, are targeting clients in London, Manchester, Dublin and

Glasgow.

They claim to be in discussions with eight potential clients, covering

the retail, pharmaceutical, financial and public sectors.

Gerrie said the aim is to set up offices in all four target cities: 'The

plan is to open one by the end of next year, probably in London.'

Gerrie and Cree are barred by their departure terms from WSW from

recruiting the PR giant's clients and staff until next May.
