Nexus acquires Jonathan Street Communications

The newly re-branded Nexus Communications has acquired healthcare

specialist Jonathan Street Communications.



Agency founder Jonathan Street, his co-director Mark Purcell and six

staff are to join the existing Nexus healthcare operation, which

includes OTC clients such as Warner Lambert and UniChem.



The acquisition comes as Nexus, formerly Nexus Choat, drops the name of

its founder and chairman Jonathan Choat from its title, and launches a

new corporate identity.



Street specialises in healthcare crisis management with around 30

clients including Chelsea and Westminster Healthcare Trust. He said the

deal had been discussed informally for months and that the agencies had

a good fit.



He added: 'We have been in a niche market since I started six years ago

and need to spread our wings to learn more skills in other parts of the

business. It is also an opportunity for my staff to have other

opportunities in a larger company.'



Last year Nexus established an operation dedicated to ethical issues. It

announced a strategic partnership with a medical education business,

Darwin Communications, earlier this year.



Jonathan Street will form part of the Nexus healthcare division, which

will be run alongside the agency's two other divisions - Nexus

Technology and Nexus Consumer & Business.
