Media: Scout drops print format

Scout London, the free weekly listings magazine for London, has suspended its print title following Time Out's decision to switch to free distribution this autumn.

Scout, which is published by Scout Media, will focus on its online format while it discovers what Time Out's offering is and judges its success, according to a spokesman. The spokesman from Scout said: 'Time Out's plans add credence to our business model, but in terms of content and proposition, we are very different magazines.

'We are concentrating on the digital offering as we watch Time Out's decisions and developments with interest.'

As revealed earlier this month, Time Out is to drop its £3.25 cover price and increase its distribution to 300,000 copies per week.
