Public Affairs: The Week in Lobbying

FTI CONSULTING BRUSSELS' senior MD Debbie Parriss and MD Matthew Willis have left to launch a consultancy. The agency is expected to be based in the UK.

WEBER SHANDWICK has appointed Emma Pointer as account manager. She will specialise in defence and manufacturing PA, and joins from Selex Systems Integration. The PR agency has also recruited account manager Mary Hinks-Edwards, from the British Medical Association, to specialise in healthcare public affairs.

EEF, the manufacturers' organisation, has restructured its UK external affairs operations.

Rocky Lorusso has been promoted to government and external affairs manager, with Steve Coventry taking over the new role of head of campaigns and corporate affairs. The news follows the appointment of Sally Sykes as director of external affairs.

VOLVO has appointed Duncan Forrester to the newly created role of vice-president, product and brand comms in public affairs for Volvo Car Corporation, Sweden. The appointment follows the arrival of senior vice-president of public affairs Bodil Eriksson in May, which facilitated a review of the company's public affairs function.
