NSL Services group, the outsourcing company, has recruited Belinda Webb from the Institution of Engineering & Technology to lead its comms. She will report directly to director Mark Raisbeck and succeeds Tim Cowen, who left NSL to become Royal Mail's director of consumer and business media relations last year.

SMITHFIELD has recruited Brett Jacobs in a consulting role to assist the development of its oil and gas practice. Jacobs has worked for several investment banks, including Merrill Lynch, RBC Capital Markets, Panmure Gordon and Hoare Govett, and will provide capital markets expertise to the agency.

UNITED DRUG, the international healthcare services company, has appointed Powerscourt to provide UK financial comms support, following a competitive pitch. The agency will work alongside United Drug's retained Irish PR consultancy, Murray Consultants, to provide UK investor relations, financial and corporate comms help.

RSM TENON, the accountancy firm, has appointed Deborah Rothfield as comms manager, with a remit that includes PR and internal comms. She joins from Mattison Public Relations and has also held roles at Bristows LLP and Denton Wilde Sapte LLP (now SNR Denton).
