PUBLIC SECTOR: Scotland canals transformation body boosts PR

A £78m scheme to transform Scotland's canal system is to

boost its PR.

Millennium Link, the body that runs the initiative and which has members

including British Waterways, Millennium Commission and Scottish

Enterprise, has taken on consultancy the Wave Partnership to handle its

PR.

The Glasgow-based consultancy will work with Millennium Link up until

and including the opening of the improved waterway network early next

year.

Wave partner Chris Bell leads the account and reports to Jim Sterling,

Scotland director at Millennium Link lead partner British Waterways.

Millennium Link includes massive improvements to the Forth & Clyde and

Union canals and the creation of the world's first rotating boat wheel,

at Falkirk.

The Millennium Commission donated £32m to the scheme.
