Alastair Gornall, the former CEO of Consolidated Communications, is
joining the board of Madsen Clark to advise PR firms looking to
undertake mergers, acquisitions, MBOs or MBIs.
Gornall sold the agency he founded to its managers in June and believes
his experience makes him well-placed to advise on similar deals.
He said: 'I've had 20 years helping people run companies also doing

Gornall says the current economic outlook suggests there will be a big
call for such advice in the coming months.
'From the feedback I am getting from agency heads, I think business is
getting tougher and if that continues people will look to ways of
getting economies of scale, mergers and some exits,' he said.
Madsen Clark has advised on deals involving 17 PR agencies with a total
fee income in excess of £30m.
