Gornall takes up M&A board role at Madsen Clark

Alastair Gornall, the former CEO of Consolidated Communications, is

joining the board of Madsen Clark to advise PR firms looking to

undertake mergers, acquisitions, MBOs or MBIs.

Gornall sold the agency he founded to its managers in June and believes

his experience makes him well-placed to advise on similar deals.

He said: 'I've had 20 years helping people run companies also doing

deals.

What I am going to do now is use that experience with people facing the

same scenario.'

Gornall says the current economic outlook suggests there will be a big

call for such advice in the coming months.

'From the feedback I am getting from agency heads, I think business is

getting tougher and if that continues people will look to ways of

getting economies of scale, mergers and some exits,' he said.

Madsen Clark has advised on deals involving 17 PR agencies with a total

fee income in excess of £30m.
