Thomas Cook to resume agency hunt with Mullen

Travel agent Thomas Cook is set to restart its search for a UK

consumer agency following the appointment of Una Mullen as head of PR

for the firm's distribution arm.



The firm put the three-agency pitch process on hold back in August after

the departure of previous PR chief Jane Smith, who moved to AMP

Financial Services as head of internal PR (PRWeek, 20 July).



The role was filled in the interim by freelance consultant Kerry

Jones.



Mullen joins from Powergen and assumes responsibility for Thomas Cook's

distribution arm, which incorporates its seven call centres and 700 high

street shops.



She also takes on a newly created remit to cover thomascook.com, the

firm's e-business arm, a role previously filled by Sophie Roe, who left

in May.



The role covers external communications, reporting to Kevin Styles,

marketing director for the distribution arm.
