Cloke picked as Vodafone head of corporate comms

Telecoms giant Vodafone has appointed Anna Cloke as its head of UK

corporate communications.

She has taken over from Corrine Norris, who has been promoted internally

to head the company's corporate communications office in Spain.

Cloke leads a team of ten and works closely with incumbent external

agencies Brodeur Worldwide and Borkowski PR on consumer and B2B accounts

respectively.

She reports to Vodafone group corporate communications director Mike

Coldwell.

Cloke's appointment at Vodafone comes three months after the dramatic

crash of One.Tel, which she had been due to join.

She quit One2One, where she was communications director, in January to

join One.Tel as its corporate communications director for Europe.

However, while on gardening leave in May she received a phone call

saying the Australian-backed company had crashed.

Global utilities giant Centrica bought the remains of One.Tel - adding

the telecoms firm to brands such as AA and British Gas.

'I was told that I was over-qualified for any roles in the new set-up,'

revealed Cloke, who added she had been in talks with Vodafone for 'some

time' before joining.
