Public Sector: The Public Sector Week

Welsh Government director of comms Sara Moseley has joined the Cardiff School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies on secondment. She has taken on the role of development director and will lead work around the establishment of the Centre for Community Journalism.

Grant Shapps, the housing minister, has said it is 'inevitable' that the growth of internet use will lead to the end of councils having to print statutory notices. At the LGA executive meeting earlier this month, Shapps, in reply to questioning from Hackney Borough Council's mayor Jules Pipe, said authorities would have to put such notices online.

His words follow the threat from Communities Secretary Eric Pickles that he would clamp down on council-produced newspapers.

The Museum of Liverpool has taken on Woodthorpe Comms for contemporary art exhibition Liverpool Love Charitable Artbeat. Agency director Adele Woodthorpe is overseeing strategic direction.

Luke Blair, director at London Communications Agency, has written this week's public sector column on the importance of trust between management and employees to foster a culture of positive and successful communication. To read it, go to prweek.com/uk and click on public sector.
