Public Affairs: The Week in Lobbying

Whitehouse Consultancy MD Chris Whitehouse has hit back after The Observer reported he represented tax consultancy NT Advisors, named in connection with the Jimmy Carr tax scandal. Whitehouse admitted his agency was retained to 'highlight the pernicious effect of retrospective changes to taxation law'.

MHP has appointed Tetra Strategy account director Ruwan Kodikara to take the same role. Kodikara will handle larger corporate clients. Kodikara has also worked for the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Press Office.

Lansons Public Affairs has launched a partnership with Camber Associates, a public affairs agency in Brussels. The agencies will share and refer work, and team up on new business.

Grayling Public Affairs has brought in senior-level consultant Craig Ling to strengthen campaigning, consultation and planning. Ling was recruited from disability charity Scope, where he was head of campaigns.

Ofcom has appointed two new members of the Advisory Committee for Northern Ireland. Former head of news and current affairs at BBC Northern Ireland Andrew Colman joins alongside Brendan Mulgrew, who is managing partner at public affairs company MW Advocate.
