Lastminute.com's Nichola Sharpe appointed by Barclays

Lastminute.com's former external comms director has taken on a newly created role overseeing Barclays' image in broadcast and consumer media.

Nichola Sharpe joins the bank as head of consumer media in retail and business banking and will report to retail and business banking director of comms Alistair Smith.

A spokesman for Barclays said: ‘Her focus will be on raising the Barclays brand profile across consumer and broadcast media.’

Sharpe briefly worked as interim V-P, brand comms at tech startup Basekit after leaving Lastminute.com in January.

Her move coincides with the arrival at the bank of Diageo comms chief Stephen Doherty into the newly created role of MD, head of corporate comms.
