The agency will handle PR for the inaugural OECD Pensions Outlook 2012 report, launched on 11 June at Cass Business School in London. The report analyses the public and private pension reforms in Europe and lays out a policy roadmap to address the key challenges facing the pension industry.

Smithfield MD John Kiely commented: ‘The OECD’s research on global economic and social issues has played a pivotal role in helping governments around the world design and implement effective policies for over 50 years. Against the current economic backdrop, its voice is more important than ever and we are extremely pleased to be able to support its valuable work.’

Juan Yermo, head of the private pensions unit in the financial affairs division of the OECD, added: ‘Developing an effective pension system is critical for any country. Our research demonstrates that, while much progress has been made to reform pensions, both in the UK and further afield, there is still much work to be done.

‘Communicating the findings of our research and our recommendations effectively to a pertinent audience of regulators, policy makers, and the wider pensions industry is crucial in bringing change.'
