Public Affairs: The Week in Lobbying

Grayling Public Affairs has appointed Craig Ling as a consultant. He joins from working as head of campaigns at national disability charity Scope. He is also the former Liberal Democrat trade and industry parliamentary policy adviser and has worked on domestic political campaigns for Liberal Democrat cabinet ministers including Energy Secretary Ed Davey.

Nationwide has picked Lansons for a retained public affairs brief after a pitch process. The building society has asked the agency to provide strategic support for work both in London and Brussels.

MHP Communications directors Nick Laitner and Josh Peck will oversee MHP's political consultancy team while head of public affairs Fiona Holroyde is on maternity leave.

Hanover has appointed freelance comms consultant Rhoda Macdonald as a director. Previously, she had been MD of public affairs at Burson-Marsteller and a director at Bell Pottinger. She was also a special adviser to Helen Liddell, secretary of state for Scotland, in Tony Blair's administration.

THE Welsh Assembly's standards commissioner is to review assembly members' dealings with political lobbyists. The request was made by assembly presiding officer Rosemary Butler.
