Prowse & Co to promote UK trade

Prowse & Co has won a government contract to promote British

business globally.

Trade Partners UK, the DTI and Foreign Office scheme to help British

export firms, appointed Prowse & Co after a four-way pitch.

The agency, which is on the COI roster, will be responsible for media

relations and public affairs as well as marketing, online PR and

database management.

Prowse & Co replaces Cohn & Wolfe, which also took part in the pitch and

was used to promote the launch of Trade Partners in May last year.

Cohn & Wolfe will continue to work on a language project for

TradePartners.

Prowse & Co account director Sara Lipscombe-Nott will lead the account,

reporting to Peter McDermott, Trade Partners UK marketing head.

The account win adds to Prowse & Co's government portfolio, which

includes the Met Office and Patent Office.

Lipscombe-Nott said: 'It is our job to raise the profile of this group

that does so much to promote and help British companies abroad.'

Trade Partners UK is part of British Trade International, which reports

to the Foreign Office and DTI.

About 9,000 companies have been helped in export business by Trade

Partners.

The organisation deals with more than 50,000 enquiries a year and

liaises with chambers of commerce and regional development agencies

around Britain.

It also organises trade delegations abroad and liaises with

embassies.

Last month, Trade Partners backed a delegation to China by British music

industry representatives.
