Sunday Business retains WMC for awareness drive

Recently revamped City broadsheet Sunday Business has enlisted a

team of financial and corporate PR specialists from WMC Communications

to raise awareness of the paper's offerings and increase

subscriptions.

Sunday Business drafted the agency in for external PR support just

months after unveiling a new editorial package - including a glossy

magazine, dedicated sport section and investor supplement - designed to

boost a flagging readership.

WMC's appointment comes as Sunday Business bosses make a concerted drive

to increase circulation, which ABC figures suggest stands at an average

of 55,603, down nine per cent year on year.

The agency will work closely with and report to Paul Woolfenden, the

former commercial director at Express Newspapers, who joined in March

with a remit to redirect the paper's circulation towards a target of

75,000.

WMC chairman David Wynne-Morgan leads the account, with a team of

three.

Alex Glover, WMC MD, said: 'Our job is to raise awareness in the City

and throughout the UK to encourage people to subscribe.'
