As well as leading her comms team in efforts to communicate the charity’s cancer prevention work across all media channels, West will also be advising and supporting WCRF International’s comms activities.
This will include working with its global network of members to promote the scientific research work being conducted into how cancer risk is related to diet, physical activity and weight management.
She said: ‘The team and I will be focused on increasing people’s awareness of how they can reduce their cancer risk. Building on the excellent work that has already been done, we will be focusing on how to best support the policy work the charity is doing as well as looking to develop social media activities.’
West has worked in both the charity and private sectors including a job as campaigns manager at the Environmental Investigation Agency and head of national campaigns at the Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID).
