Infrastructure India (IIP) is led by Tom Tribone, non-executive chairman, and Sonny Lulla, chief executive, both of whom are also senior executives at Guggenheim Global Infrastructure Company, a 31 per cent investor in IIP and part of Guggenheim Partners, a global investment management firm with more than $125bn under management.

IIP represents Guggenheim’s primary investment platform for India and currently invested in transport, distribution, toll-road, hydroelectric and wind energy assets.

The Merlin team comprises chief executive Paul Downes, director Toby Bates, associate director Del Jones and research executive Chantal Hadley.

Redleaf Polhill previously handled IIP’s financial PR account.

Downes commented: ‘IIP has a compelling investment story to tell and offers investors the dual attractions of exposure to India as one of the fastest growing economies globally and to the transport and energy sectors that are intrinsic to that growth.’

He added that the agency would look to ‘develop IIP’s positioning in the capital markets in support of their strategy for the next phase of its development and growth'.
