PUBLIC SECTOR: BGB wins foot-and-mouth/tourism brief

The Lake District is to get PR agency help as it battles to bring

tourists back in the wake of the foot-and-mouth crisis. Specialist

leisure agency BGB & Associates has won a three-way pitch to become the

Cumbria Tourist Board's first retained agency. The BGB team, headed by

associate director Helen Coop, reports to CTB operations director Ian

Stephens. Coop said: 'Cumbria is undoubtedly one of the regions where

tourism has been affected the most by foot-and- mouth disease.' Last

week, BGB scooped a similar account for Arun District Council (PRWeek,

13 July).
