The vehicle manufacturer owned by Tata Group held pitches last Friday for its public affairs business, currently held by Hanover. The agency provides ongoing strategic counsel and public affairs support for Jaguar Land Rover, focusing across political parties and Whitehall.

The pitch process is understood to include MHP, Maitland Political, Fishburn Hedges and the incumbent.

The news comes as it has emerged that the car firm’s director of global government affairs Andrew McCall is leaving. He has been offered a job with Ford of Europe as executive director, government affairs, beginning in June.

A spokeswoman for Jaguar Land Rover said: ‘Jaguar Land Rover has confirmed Andrew McCall is leaving his position as government affairs director after ten years at the firm.’

A replacement for McCall will be announced shortly. His successor will continue to oversee public affairs in Washington DC, Brussels and Beijing as well as London.

McCall previously worked for Ford for two years, and before that worked in his first stint at Jaguar Land Rover. Ford originally owned both Land Rover and Jaguar, which it sold to Tata in 2007.

The luxury car maker is recruiting 1,000 extra staff to bolster production of its Range Rover Evoque model. It has since seen an unprecedented 35,000 applications for jobs.
