How would you sum up 2011 at your agency?
2011 was an amazing period of long-term sustainable growth for JTA.
What was your agency’s high point of 2011?
Winning the Manchester United FC account and supporting London’s successful bid to host the 2017 IAAF Athletics World Championships.
What was the low point?
Munich not winning its bid to host the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
Please give an overview of your staffing through 2011, including significant hires and internal promotions.
JTA has recruited five new members of staff to service new business over the past year: we work hard to ensure that all JTA employees are a good match for our clients. Our most significant internal promotion in 2011 was the promotion of Severine Hubert to Managing Director following seven years of working closely with Jon Tibbs across all areas of the business.
What were your best three campaigns of 2011?
- Helping London to win the bid to host the 2017 IAAF Athletics World Championships.
- Helping to enhance Manchester United’s global corporate reputation.
- Promoting Sochi 2014’s outstanding Games preparation to key stakeholders within the Olympic family through a highly effective B2B campaign.
What were your most exciting client wins of 2011?
Over the past year, JTA has grown considerably with many new business wins. The additions to our client portfolio include: Bosco, the Russian fashion, lifestyle and sportswear label; the Russian International Olympic University; the Jockey Club; Istanbul’s bid to host the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games; London’s successful bid to host the 2017 IAAF Athletics World Championships; and the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 Local Organising Committee.
Of which achievement in 2011 are you most proud?
Severine Hubert working closely with Lord Coe and his team to secure the necessary votes for London’s successful bid to host the 2017 IAAF Athletics World Championships.
What trends did you notice throughout the year in the industry?
Twitter driving the media agenda in terms of content sourced from Twitter sites and also Twitter increasingly becoming the first channel used by the media to promote news.
Tell us how your digital work became more measurably effective in 2011.
JTA has set up daily and real-time social media monitoring systems for a number of clients and launched Facebook https://www.facebook.com/generationsforpeace, Twitter https://twitter.com/Gens_For_Peace, and Pinterest http://pinterest.com/gensforpeace/ for Generations For Peace. We have also set up a Twitter account for media to receive regular information about MUFC.

Recruitment and retention of the best talent to consolidate and service JTA’s growing client portfolio.
