Neil Henderson, currently head of GolinHarris' media division, will join the company in May.

Visa is gearing up for a sustained comms drive around its partnership of the forthcoming Olympic Games. The brand is the only payment card accepted at Olympic venues.

It is understood Henderson will lead the group's media relations team, assuming responsibility for the media profile of the CEO, brand positioning and handling agencies in each territory. Hill + Knowlton Strategies is Visa Europe's retained London agency.

Henderson replaces Simon Kleine, who left Visa to join Western Union in January, and will report to Fiona Wilkinson, director of comms at Visa Europe.

Visa Europe confirmed Henderson's appointment but declined to elaborate.

Henderson had only worked at GolinHarris since September last year since joining from a four-year stint as head of broadcast at The Red Consultancy. Before moving into PR, Henderson worked in various journalism roles at the BBC, Sky and ITN.

GolinHarris is understood to be recruiting a direct replacement for Henderson.
