M:Communications has appointed Sarah Macleod to its healthcare team. She has more than 16 years' experience in corporate and financial comms, including in-house roles at FTSE-250 leisure travel group TUI Travel and marketing services group Creston, as well as stints at FTI Consulting, MHP and Weber Shandwick.

RLM Finsbury topped the mergermarket league table for global M&A in the first quarter of 2012. The agency worked on 25 deals worth US$89.9bn (£56.6bn), boosted by its work on the Glencore/Xstrata merger. Brunswick topped the table for deal volume, working on 41 deals valued at dollars US38.8bn.

Hume Brophy has been called in by RMG Wealth Management to provide PR support for the launch of its first offshore fund, the RMG Real Return Fund. The Hume Brophy team is led by partner and head of UK business Steve McCool.

Patrick Meyer has joined Puma Energy as head of corporate affairs and investor relations. He joins from Nomura, where he spent four years as head of business and client comms, having previously held senior roles at Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch and Brunswick.
