Emma Coleman: moves to Groupon from Bite Communications
Emma Coleman joins the company as Groupon was given three months to improve the way it operates by the Office of Fair Trading.

Coleman will be responsible for driving campaigns with the aim of increasing awareness of Groupon’s brand through merchant and consumer-specific activities. She will also manage the Groupon press office.

She moves to Groupon from Bite Communications, where she was head of corporate. She had worked at the tech agency for more than seven years after joining as an account manager.

Coleman has previously worked on clients such as Facebook, Symantec, Gallup and Sage. She joins on 10 April and will report to Heather Dickinson, Groupon's international communications director.

The OFT has expressed concerns over Groupon’s ‘pricing, advertising, refunds and unfair terms, and the diligence of its interactions with merchants’.

As part of the ruling, Groupon has agreed to make the prices in its adverts more accurate and honest, and make details on limitations on availability clearer.
