Beattie Media in Scottish buy-up of Linda Young

Beattie Media has snapped up 11-year-old agency Linda Young

Publicity, commandeering a client list including Poundstretcher and

Milton Hotels.



The purchase of the five-strong boutique agency will result in the

merger of the Linda Young brand into Beattie Media, with no

redundancies.



Founder Linda Young is likely to take a place on the Beattie Media

board, although her exact role will not be finalised until she returns

from holiday.



The purchase sees Beattie Media cement its position in the Scottish

market, according to chief executive and founder Gordon Beattie: 'While

we've been expanding very rapidly in London, this acquisition shows our

commitment to our Scottish heartlands', he said.



Meanwhile, the Glasgow-based agency has poached consumer agency

MacLaurin's Scottish head Pamela Counter, who is thought likely to head

Beattie's Edinburgh office.
