Director trio appointed in Consolidated restructure

Consumer PR consultancy Consolidated Communications has

restructured its board and appointed three new directors in the wake of

last month's pounds 3m management buy-out.

Louise Watson, Mel Fox and Paul Davies join Consolidated's operations

board as the company seeks to strengthen its management.

Watson joins from Hill & Knowlton, where she has spent six years running

campaigns for clients such as Kelloggs and Britvic soft drinks. She will

head buzz and KLM accounts for Consolidated.

Fox, previously UK PR manager at Yahoo!, will head Consolidated's Buena

Vista Home Entertainment work.

Davies, formerly an associate partner at Financial Dynamics, will head a

newly-created team focused on corporate PR.

The 12-strong operations board has been formed by combining the separate

PR and public affairs boards that existed before six directors

engineered the MBO from founder and CEO Alastair Gornall (PRWeek, 8

June).

The directors who took part in the MBO will now sit on the company's

main board. They include Will Holt, who said: 'The main board isn't a

closed shop - any of the operations board directors have the potential

to join if they make the grade.'

Holt said that corporate work previously handled as an extension of

consumer work would now be handed on to Davies' specialist team.

Led by Consolidated's co-founder and MD Sarah Robinson, the MBO team

consisted of Holt, Katie Hatfield, Rachael Sansom, FD Stephen Marsh, and

PA director Ed Vaizey.

Finance was secured from sources including Venture Capital Trusts, Close

VCT Management and Lloyds TSB bank.

Consolidated clients include Ask Jeeves, Audi, Blockbuster, Virgin

Direct and Budweiser. It has an annual fee income of more than pounds

5.5m and around 100 staff.
