Newgate is owned by Porta Communications, the marcoms vehicle established by Citigate co-founder David Wright, and appointed former Citigate CEO and fellow co-founder Jonathan Clare as executive chairman in September 2010.

Kellie worked at Citigate for twelve years, six years as a director, working on corporate clients in the UK and overseas.

Clare, executive chairman of Newgate, commented: ‘Alistair is the latest senior hire and brings with him considerable experience in the financial and professional services sectors.

‘Our ability to provide clients with a breadth of counsel, spanning capital market communications, corporate reputation building with business opinion-formers and public policy and regulatory consultancy from one team is attracting a lot of interest from companies and organisations as we can offer senior advice with high standards of service."

Kellie said that he was looking forward to ‘building a new consultancy with some of the most respected names in the industry’, adding: ‘Our focus at Newgate is to change the way people think about organisations so they can achieve their business, policy and social objectives.’

His appointment follows that of the BBC’s Martin Greig and Fishburn Hedges’ Jason Nisse last month.
