Red Whistle Communications has been chosen on a Europe-wide
corporate brief by internet firm Bertelsmann Online International
This is the first time BOL, which is part of the Bertelsmann eCommerce
Group, has appointed a single agency to cover Europe.
The decision was made to coincide with the move next month of its
international base from Baar in Switzerland to London.
Red Whistle MD Zoe Arden heads the account and reports to international
PR manager Beat Werder.
The agency, owned by Weber Shandwick Worldwide (WSW), was appointed
without a competitive pitch. WSW's Washington DC office already handles
PR for the Bertelsmann eCommerce Group.
'With the move to London we needed an agency that was English speaking
and was capable of handling our corporate brand across Europe. The fact
that WSW is already working with the company helped in our selection of
Red Whistle,' said Werder.
MacLaurin continues to handle the consumer brief for BOL in the UK.
