Virgin Atlantic hires National Express Group's Joy Doyle as international PR manager

Virgin Atlantic Airways has appointed National Express Group's head of media Joy Doyle as international PR manager.

Doyle will head a team of nine press officers across Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa and will work with the recently appointed Sarah McIntyre, who leads PR in the US and Caribbean markets. 

In this newly created role Doyle's remit will see her work across Virgin Atlantic’s ten global markets outside of the UK and US and deliver a co-ordinated PR programme to boost the company’s global profile.

Doyle said: ‘Virgin Atlantic has a formidable reputation for creativity and innovation in travel. My challenge is to take this reputation to the global stage.’

Doyle will report to Greg Dawson, director of corporate comms.

He said of her appointment: ‘In such a diverse collection of markets, Joy will be driving corporate reputation and using her considerable experience to develop our global team.’ 

After starting her career with McDonald’s in its regional PR team, Doyle moved to Lloydspharmacy before joining National Express in 2004.
