The digital agency, which has an office in San Francisco and clients including Unilever, Tia Maria and Dove, will be incorporated into GolinHarris’ London offices, but will retain the FUSE brand.
The terms of the deal were undisclosed, but GolinHarris’ CEO Fred Cook described the move as a ‘critical element of our strategy for the future’.
Jonathan Hughes, president, international, said the deal would enable the agency to handle more integrated digital projects, using the PR agency’s creative background in tandem with FUSE’s technical design and development expertise.
He added that the deal also reflected the agency’s ‘G4’ model, unveiled last year, which was designed to reflect the increasing power of digital and social media in the comms industry.
FUSE founders Doug Ayres, Simon Hobbs and Jon Meggitt will continue to lead the agency, reporting to Hughes.
Last week, GolinHarris also acquired German-based consumer shop Nicole Weber Communications.
