Chargemaster has brought in the agency, which is on a six-month retained consumer brief, following a five-way pitch in December.
Under the banner of POLAR, the UK’s first nationwide electric vehicle charging network, it has so far installed 1,250 charging points across UK and is looking to take that tally up to 4,000 by the end of this year.
It has the backing of the Government, which is offering substantial subsidies for people thinking of buying an electric car.
PHA Media’s win also comes ahead of a series of car launches set for 2012, with manufacturers including Renault, Nissan and Ford getting in on the act.
David Martell, CEO of Chargemaster, said: ‘We are impressed by PHA Media's experience combined with its particularly innovative PR approach.'
It is understood that the agency will be spreading the word about the company in the national media with a focus on green credentials and convenience. The brief will be led by associate director Stuart Skinner.
Chargemaster, launched in 2008 by entrepreneur and inventor David Martell, currently works with Abchurch Communications, which handles its financial PR.
