Marketing partner to boost overseas Brunswick profile

Brunswick has hired its first marketing partner to help push the

profile's brand in overseas markets.

Rachel Melsom takes on the newly-created role from her previous position

as senior business development manager for cable firm ntl.

Reporting directly to founding partner Alan Parker, she has a remit to

manage and co-ordinate marketing across the firm's offices in the UK,

New York, Germany and Johannesburg.

A spokesman said: 'Brunswick has not needed to focus on marketing in the

UK, but expanding overseas is a different ball game. The firm wants to

be seen by international firms as the expert on hostile takeovers and

M&A.'

The firm has plans to open more overseas offices in the States,

continental Europe and possibly Asia.

- Brunswick has joined forces with blue-chip client Cazenove to back

online venture Cantos Communications, launched last week. The service -

run by Parker's sister Lucy - provides company news to institutional

investors, analysts, the media and fund managers.
